Don't go with the b16 trans! I've seen to many of them take a dump especially if your going to be making over 200whp. The diff cant take it.

the b16 tranny isnt bad at all. the only reason why i don t like them is because there gears are fairly short and with a turbo you would be shifting like crazy. the ls tranny is perfect for boost, and im not too sure about the c1

Definatly agreed on this, the LS tranny is probly going to be your best bet with a boosted application. LS = Very long gears in comparison to the short b16 gears. The B18c1 (gsr) tranny also has shorter gears, it is designed to try & stay at high rev due to the fact that it was on a vtec motor & wants to stay in that range while driving.

Turbo B's = best operated with LS tranny

Junk? So 99-00 Si's are junk?
If they are junk, why do so many people swap them in?

I had a choice between B16 & 18, price wasn't the issue, it's preference. :deek:

If all you are concerned about is torque, then go buy a Mustang.

If I could do it over again, I'd still go B16. Wouldn't mind having the 18 though

The only B series stuff I would consider would be either B18B turbo or LS/VTEC (B20/VTEC). I really don't like the intake manifold design on the B18C - I know, it's easy to change, but the B16 head is a really great head. Wideband + Uberdata/Crome = great tune on an LS/VTEC.
