Default My car amazes me once again

I drove my car from CO Springs to the Phoenix, AZ area last week (returned last night) and I didn't have a single problem. The amazing part (and this is going to piss a lot of you off), I got at worst 26mpg and at best 35mpg :eek3:

My 35mpg was pushing it like crazy down HWY 160 through 4 corners. I had a dude way out in front of me that was tearing up the road so I followed suit and waited for him to get pinched. :chuckles: I won't go as far as revealing the speeds but they were well into the 3-digit range.

I'm going to toot my own horn here and pat myself on the back for a job well done building this motor. I lub it

I don't even know... it was something stock and compact. He buzzed by me and I wasn't paying attention to him until I realized I could use him to get through there faster.

Nice. I was daily driving my hybrid when my '98 EX was wrecked and for about 3 days I was just barely pushing it and all highway. I typically fill my cars when I hit 200-250 miles on the trip odometer so I stopped and filled it up and it only took a little more than 4 gallons to fill the tank. The math worked out to like 49.3 mpg. Light car and powerful engine work well together.

If I remember right the weakest point on your car is the tranny. You beefed up the motor so much you'll probably go thru 3 trannys before the motor ever blows.
