powershifting???
i was at a swap meet and i overheard some mustang guys saying u can shift without hitting the clutch. like if your on third and at like high rpm, lets sat 7,000, you dont need to hit the clutch, just move the shifter really fast to 4th and it wont hurt the clutch or tranny or something. if its true i guess u can shave off like a freakin second on your 1/4?

It's true that you can force the shifter out of thr gate and maybe into the next gear without the clutch... but it will kill your tranny quick. If you don't want to use the clutch just buy an automatic.

This isnt harmful at all if done correctly....if your car is at the right rpm, it slips right in, just like on a 10 sp. bicycle.
on a civic, at about 3500 rpm, you can shift to the next gear as long as you revv match. if your RPM go up, you'll grind. If they are too low, you'll get nothing, and have to clutch.
