Default Are all d-series tranny's compatible??

I have a 95 VX and my tranny is shot with 265,000 on the clock. I am looking at a 96 LX tranny, will it mount up without any issues???? Thanks

I'm pretty sure I've read that it'll work. This is mostly a bump though.

Yes, you should be able to use the 97 lx tranny fine. It's actually a little stronger than your original one too, since the 96-00 trannies were made better. (At least that's what used to roam around on the forums)

I think they use different synchros or shift forks that are stronger than the EG D series trannies.

Yep, it's the shift forks. They're designed better.

so.. the eg D series are compatiable with the newer trannys? for ex. -- swapping a 96+ tranny into a 92-95eg?
