Default B16a2 into a 97 civic ex, Please Help

hey,
my best friend just totaled his 99 civic si and he wants to drop the b16a2 from that civic into a 97 civic ex. i dont know much about obd2 or newer civics im stuck in the 88-91 crx obd0 simple shit. i know that in some cases axles would need to be changed, shift linkage, etc. im thinking that the b16 tranny sits more left (looking at the compartment from the front) in the engine compartment which would mean that the left axle would need to be shorter and he right longer, but im not sure. i know there both obd2 so as far as wiring theres nothing to do, but if anyone has any first hand knowledge please help me out.

You will need the axles and shift linkages from the B16A2. Also, the wiring will NOT plug and play. You have a couple options:

1. Remove all the harnesses and ECU from the SI and implant into the EX.
2. Get an OBD2B to OBD2A adaptor harness to use the P2T SI ecu.
3. Some other hack job.

The problem is that the 99-2000 use and OBD2B style ECU which will not plug into the 97 EX wiring harness. You could also try to find an ecu from a B16A3 OBD2A Del sol, it would be similar.
