i dont know too much. But in the air bag i think there is nitrogen. Even if it smells bad a good impact would prolly knock you out either way, depending on the position of the collision.

the airbag diploying material is sulfur...thats the smell. sorry about the car but as others have said, they are replaceable. Also just out of curiosity, did your headunit sink in your dash like mine?? LOL I hit a tree doing about 75 or 80 and flipped my teggy end over end once and me and my girlfriend came out with scratches. Honda has spent an amazing amount of time and money on research for the saftey freatures in their cars...or at least that is what I believe due to the experience of my crash.

im sure its not sulfur cause i remember right. when sulfur and water mix it makes Sulfuric acid which is extremely dangerous. wut happens when u crash in the rain or something?
