Default How to remove silencer from muffler please help

Can someone please tell me how to remove the silencer fom this crappy thing? I have already removed the bolt and nut and tugged like crazy and it wont budge, any helkp would be appreciated thanks

You might need to get a hook and try to get it in the bolt hole without going all the way through.

Or use some pliers to get an edge on it.

You mean a basic N1 style silencer? Start the car and rev it a few times, exhaust pressure should blow it right out. At least it does in my car.

Did your muffler come with the silencer already in or something?

i used a coat hanger.....bent the hook so that it fit into the silencer and pulled it out
it should only go back about 6-8 inches

And make sure someone you don't like is back there to catch it

Just get a pair of pliers and give it a good tug. Don't be afraid, you won't mess anything up.
