i could just try and unscrew the 3 bolts at the beginning of the cat, but at the back, there isnt a nut or anything, its pretty much flat, except for a minor bump at the end. can i just try and unscrew these? or are the welded in, i cant tell. my muffler is off, so itd be kinda hard to drive somewhere. any other suggestions?

Wait, you're asking what to do and you haven't even put a wrench to them yet? Duh, first step. If that doesn't work, cut, brake, and/or replace.

If you cut/grind the nut off, it will fall apart like you want it to.

Go to the parts store and pickup a wire brush. Scrub those 3 bolts on the back of the cat and get all that crap off of them. Find a deepwell socket that just barely doesnt' fit over the bolts (13mm will probably do it), settle it so it's lined up right and hammer that ****er on there. Put a breaker bar on (I'm assuming everything is soaked in PB blaster too) and just crank them off. Your best bet is go find some new nuts before you start too. That's what I did with mine, if you loosen the rubber hanger down from the cat and lay the B-pipe down on the ground (with the front jacked up) and slide it to one side, you can get a wrench on the top bolt.
