I'm having a bad month with my car....The Friday before July 4th, I snapped my car axle. I just made a normal u-turn then it snapped. So i pushed it into a parking lot and called a tow truck. The tow truck driver came and said he wouldn't tow my car because its lowered and its too low. I was pissed because I was waiting there for a hour for the tow truck.

After that, my last resort was to change it there in the parking lot. So, I get my brother to drive me to my friends house to borrow a B-Series axle and off we go back to the parking lot to change my axle. It took me about 20 minutes to change it. DONE with that It ruined my plans for that night because i was suppose to watch Spiderman with my friends.

Here comes today.....I wash my car and its sparkling clean again. I decide i should go drive to find a paintshop to get a quote to see how much they charge to paint my fender and my newly acquired wings west rs sideskirts.

After driving around, I decide to go to Jack in the Box. After waiting in the drive thru for about 10 minutes. I get on the onramp of the freeway at a regular pace. Once i got out of the onramp and was crusing on the freeway, my car starts bogging. I had this feeling once before because I was low on gas. In this case, I wasn't, I had a full tank. Then all of a sudden my rpms drop and I try to accelerate and it wont. A check engine light popped up. I pull over on the side of the freeway and try to see whats wrong. I try to start my car; it wouldn't start. I pop my hood to see if anything is loose. Nothing wrong there. I go back in my car and start it. It starts but my CEL is gone. Then i drive home.........

Now, I'm wondering. What is the problem. I feel like giving up on my car....

Check what code the ECU is throwing. The ECU light does not reset when the car is turned off, only the dash light does.

If you lost power to the ECU without disconnecting it, that's a huge wiring problem.

What do you mean? So, the problem occured today at like 3pm and a check engine light popped during that time. I turned off the engine. I turned it back on and the cel is gone. At first, I just stuck a paper clip on there, and i got a cel 14.....

CEL 14 = IAC Valve (Idle Air Control) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor

but can it cause my car to die like that on the freeway?

It should still show 14 though.

A bad IACV shouldn't kill the car when you're moving.

i cleaned it, its still there...i went to kragen and they say it might be my distributor coil causing me to die.

But i dont know why my cel is not showing on the cluster....its only when i go check for it, then it shows
