Default Help!! 2003 Acura EL 17" Rims/Tires

Can somebody help me out? I just bought a stock premium 2003 Acura EL 5spd and want to know if this is the same body/frame as the Civic? I want to put 225/45/17 tires on some rims I'm gonna buy but don't know if they will fit without rubbing - or how wide can go on a 17" rim? I like the look of a wider tread, but I'm new to the world of Honda and don't know much about which mods will work. Oh ya, the stock tires are 205/60/15. Thanks...

That tire size is too big. If you want to to go 17's you could go with what every civic owner (that has 17's) has which is 205/40/17. But judging by your stock tire size, you could go with 215/40/17 and still be okay.
