Does anyone know how to remove the rear speaker covers and speakers from a 99 Civic Ex?

I hope it is simple cause i am lazy

you have to take out the whole rear deck which means removing the seats, rear interior panels, pillar panels, and child restraint hooks. Then you can pup the rear deck off and get access to the speakers.

exactly what monicle said. takes a little work but should be worth the effort for better sound.

 

no no no. you don't have to do all that. i just wrote this in the other thread someone posted.


i replaced my rear 6x9's in my 97 civic coupe last summer, and i'm assuming they are the same for you... i put down the rear seats, and popped out the side panels just enough to be able to pull out the rear deck from underneath them. just becareful of the 3rd brake light bulb/wires when you go to pull away the rear deck.
