Just pick up an Edelbrock kit. ~$3400, but it's all-inclusive and comes with a watercooled dual BB Garrett T28, FMIC, intake manifold, BOV, piping, boost gauge, all lines, pillar pod, EMS...

I installed one last weekend on a Y8 and it really gives you a kick in the ass. Stock boost is set at 6 psi.

And yes, you should get a hondata, but if you're gonna be going low boost 6-10 psi forever, than an VAFC hack is fine.
:nono:

Sorry man, but a T3/T4 is too big for a D16 motor. They don't push enough to spool the turbo well. A T25/T28/15G/19T would work very well.

Ah damn, i learned something, I've heard so much about it on d16turbo.com on stock boosts that I figured it was a good one to use. Thanks for letting me know

I am going to be running low boost but I want it done right and don't want to use the hack because it has some downsides. What model hondata, emanage, etc. would I want for my type of setup. I want something that will manage everything I need to be able to boost about 8 psi and then later when I descide to up to more boost, I want to still be able to use that model without having to spend more money? Anyone know any particual model for the setup. I checked out a lot of pages and I am not sure what one to choose. So many options

S100 or S200, check out the hondata.com website. The Hondata plugs right into your ecu, so you just need to check which ecu you have and look up the which product you need. I think S100 will suffice.

hondata does not work with OBD2 vehicles....
you will need a p28 ecu(about $100+)from a 92-95 d16z6 civic... and an obd 2 to obd 1 conversion....(80-100$)
and then you should get an s200B (B stands for the boost option)

it all adds up

I still say go Edelbrock. You will end up spending less for all of the items included getting that kit over trying to piece everything together. That kit is truely 'bolt-on'. Take my word for it. :goodjob:

I still need to buy an air/fuel controller don't I? That guy that you helped (swaggs21 I think) install that Edelbrock kit with ...what does he use to control his air/fuel mix? Or...does a controller come with the kit?

It comes with the Turbo Link Engine Management system. It's actually a tunable system, but you need the correct equipment for the tuning. Seriously though man, the kit is complete. We did not need ANYTHING else that was not included in the kit to safely run 6psi on a stock D16Y8. :naughty:
