keep your D series and do the following
buy a T3 log manifold from www.lovefab.com www.spoolinperformance.com or www.bmcrace.com
buy a T3 super 60 turbo from ebay
buy oil sending and return lines and flanges and all gaskets from www.fast-turbo.com
tell him you want the special tial wastegate for 185 also with that deal...
buy 2.5 aluminum piping from www.jcwhitney.com you will need
2 45 degree
2 180 degree
1 90 degree
buy intercooler from ebay from johnnyracecar
get any BOV you prefer
buy some dsm 450cc injectors (blue tops) with injector clips...
buy cheap as 10k resistors fro radioshack...
run afc hack or even try uberdata if u know anyone who can tune it...
buy silicon couplers from NAPA autoparts store... look for 2.5 nitrile radiator hosing
buy t bolt clamps from www.mcmaster.com

If you can get the Edelbrock kit for 1700 get it. That is the most complete kit you can buy. Don't know many people running that kit though so can't tell you performance wise.

Yes, if he was going all motor. Personally I think it would be a waste for a turbo because you'd either have to split the intake pipe to run into the individual tb's or you'd have to custom make a manifold to house all of them.
