Can a D16Z6 5-sp tranny bolt up to a D15B w/stock auto tranny?
For you civic gurus - I have a '94 del sol with a blown engine and a good 5 spd tranny. I found a D15B engine/auto tranny/ecu package on EBay. I was wondering if I could remove the auto tranny and bolt-up my 5-sp to it w/o any modifications. If there is any mods, what? Please Help. Thanks!

Engine is the same...and with an auto d16 engine...that engine s/be in better condition than the manual since can not be held in higher rpms at gears that u cant control...hehe

I think you guys mis-read his post. If I'm understanding correctly, he currently has a perfectly good manual transmission, but a bad engine. So...he wants to buy the D15 from Ebay and use it and his current transmission from the z6.
To answer the original question: yes, it will bolt up just fine with no modifications.
However, you may want to search locally for someone selling a D16Z6 alone without the transmission...it could save you a bunch of money, especially since you wouldn't have to ship it.
EDIT: I'm the dumb one...I mis-read Qtiger's post.

Somebody outbids me and won! Oh well, more hunting for me. I guess a ZC SOHC VTEC or a D15B or a D16Z6 would do just fine. It's hard to find a D16Z6 w/ low miles. Speaking of low miles, can you trust people on Ebay claiming their engine has 30K miles because of the emission laws in Japan require them to remove it at 30K? I see some JDM engines (from a respectable seller) with 100K miles on it. Is it a big risk to buy JDMs because people are led to believe that engines have 30K miles? Just wondering.
