Crank Pully, Un-Balanced, Problem?
Hey guys, i've got a question here & i'm thinkin i should probly just go ahead & replace this thing but wanted a few more opinions. I know that an balanced & blue printed motor will always out perform one that is not & also that unbalanced pulleys can wear out bearings. With that said, here's my problem. I'm nearing the end of my swap & i'm about to be putting the motor in.. I've notice that there is a chunk missing from the main pulley.. it doesn't effect the belt that i am using but is it going to effect something else being that it can possibly be un-balanced? I'll post a picture later on tonight. also what other years if any are the Main pulley's innerchangable with a B18A1 from a 90 Teg?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

change it out for sure....the crank pulley or harmonic balancer is vital to the life of your crank...I am not sure about the 90 teg crank pulley, but if you pay for shipping I have a perfectly good b16a pulley that you can have for free...I dont have ps/ac so I switched to the civic type R N1 crank pulley.

You can use the main pulley from any other 90-93 Integra at least, but I wouldn't be suprised if you could bolt on and go with any B-series pulley.
I've seen the same thing on a D-series pulley on the 'Z6 that HatchVX got. He just swapped the pulley with his old VX one, which got rid of the power steering groove too.

Great info guys. Here's the pic of that pully.
You can see the top portion of the pully in the pic has the chunck missing there..
I also have another question bout my clutch that i'm going to put in another thread! Involves balance & possible problems...
b16aEGcivic Thanks.. i might be taking you up on that. I live in the NE area of OH. Near between Youngstown / Cleveland

Mine was chipped on my hybrids, I tried to use a big pair of channel locks to hold the crank pulley to break the crank pulley bolt loose and it took a chip out (I've since bought a Moroso tool). My car drove just fine that way. I was eventually going to get an N1 pulley but never did.

Ya, but you were just daily driving weren't you Andy?
Running925 says he'll be running very high hp numbers and I'd assume high RPMs which is where balance is critical. Replace the pulley, it's cheap.
