Cracked exhaust manifold
Cracked exhuast manifold
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
96 civic
My exhuast manifold is cracked...cause i smell exhuast in engine, bay and when driving i must close air circulation from engine.
Well i'm thinking about getting this from ebay.
Questions:
1. I'm worried about taking out my old exhuast manifold, everything is rusted, the bolts seem rusted brown onto manifold. Would it be smart to take it off?
2. i'm also worried about installing it from the cat to the rest of the exhuast pipe, would bolting be enough?
3. I donno, but is that a good price for it?
4. Any real problems if i dont replace it?

definitely, get decent header and like catco or carsound cat. dont waste too much money on the header though.
if the bolts are that hard to get off, use that bolt loosener shit at the hardware store, i forget what its called.
btw, learn how to post links :-P

The bolts should come off easily, '96 isn't that old and the engine bay is covered.
If you replace the manifold, don't forget to use new gaskets on both sides.

The DX/LX has the cat in the header and the primary O2 sensor is on the top of the header near the head.
The EX header will fit the head of the DX/LX, but you will need to get either an aftermarket cat or get an EX/Si cat.
