AutoZone front rotors with Cobalt GT Sport front pads and Axxis Ultimate rear pads. This is the combo I'm running now, and I love it.

I used to have Hawk HPS pads up front with the OEM rotors. The braking performance was better than stock, but not nearly as good as the Cobalt pads.

Just my $.02 and another option to look into.

nate886 I am haveing the same problems with my 01 Civic as well not sure what breaks i am going to upgrade to i looked into AEM and they cost a bit of cash. but i think the OEM Breaks are just crappy. The car does not have a problem stoping on Streets just the Highway when i get the speed up Like u said. I heard they only really last for 20Kmiles or so. i have a few friends with 00 civic+ and they all had the same problems.

That could be from boiling fluid and crappy pads though.

Here's that thread, some awesome information in here from people with real world experience: https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...d.php?t=124368

The harder/longer you brake, the hotter your brake fluid gets. Crappy fluid has a lower boiling point so it will boil sooner and you will experience brake fade. Better fluid (like Valvoline) will not boil as quickly cause it has a higher boiling point.

At least, that what I read in the thread I linked above.

Very good information about different pads and whatnot.

yah...i would of went with the HP+...but my car is a daily driver...and my rims dont like massive brake dust (or shall i say...i dont like cleaning every single bolt and corner of my wheels h: )

i would totally recommend the HP+ if you dont mind dust and rotor wear.
