Default D-series tranny questions

I have a d16y8, i need a 5sp tranny, how much can i expect to pay used? new? and anyone know some places i can get one? beside junkyard? also, any d-series tranny will bolt up right? which one is best? thanks

try e b a y . but your local junk yard will do .. they should range from $250-500 give or take 10-20 . Good luck

The y8 is about as good as it gets for D series trannies. You can also use a z6 one and feel VERY little change. I can normally find a dx tranny in GREAT shape with low miles for about 150, and the z6/y8 trannies for about 200 on up in good shape.

Am i gonna need the shift linkage too? its going into a 97 civic ex auto...im doin the auto-manual conversion. am i gonna need anything with the ecu or just the manual tranny and all the cables/cylinders

Yes you'll need the shift linkage.
