Default b18c1 GENERIC Question

I think i have come to conclusion that i want to swap to a b18c1 (previously wanted to boost my d16z6 del sol) but i just want to know what you think a car that weighs basically as much as the 92-95 civic can do 1/4 mile with stock swap...not bolt ons...and how much it would run with headers, cai, (and other bolt ons, chip) I just want to hit 14'z w/o opening engine ...possible? (im a simple person :-P)

let me know guyz thx

if you are a decent driver you can hit 14s pretty damn easy with a b18c1 in a sol. stuff like A HeadeR, intake depend on how much loot ya got...as far as a chip forget it..they are useless.

I would recomend a GSR airbox with a drop in KnN filter and the JDM 4-1 ITR header. you will be well on your way to low/mid 14s....maybe better? I dunno how much lighter the Sols are.

I've seen 14.2 in hatches with c1's and no internal mods. you should be able to pull 14's if you have decent driving skills

Well my model sol weighs about 2450 (w/o driver) so with c1 motor prolly a little over 2500 lbs...so complete stock c1 can give 14 sec range no prob?. And with bolt-ons can get to low/mid 14'z eh?

how come u dun recommend chip, wouldn't type-r curves give ya a better dyno curve by a few whp (if right tuner)? Also how come u prefer the factory airbox setup w/ just k&n filter...wouldn't the colder air give the more hp...i dunno how the circulation is on an integ...but the sol sux...so i'd think a cai would be nice... lemme know

thx guyz

the debate about how well CAI actually work on such a small displacement motor will be debated till the end of time...really it is preference.....chips are generic, meaning they are not tuned specifically to your engine. They are a waste of time and money...if you are that serious about tuning the ecu then you should go with a Hondata or something along those lines.

good advice...c im so used to just plug and play...with my d16z6 now i frikin gained like 6whp w/ my mugen chip...but i can understand with nicer motor and setup the curve is much more delicate...

but back to what u said, the gain from stage 1 bolt onz iz a pretty good amount eh (how much, or how much have u seen an engine gain?) because ive seen so many people just do i/h/e and be done with it...i mean i wont stop there but it seems that those make a pretty good difference.

lemme hear ya...thx guys
