stock cams are made to make power in your current power band. going past the stock redline gives you 0 for power gains.

A vafc will not do the same as all p28's. There are many different p28 programs...so saying a vafc will do the same is wrong. My roomies got rid of his secondaries, lowered vtec, and changed the fuel maps.

yea mines hits at 6k 5th gear which is usually around 120.

Also jdm motors do have speed limiters. My b18c has a governor at 115mph and i know its there because it hit on the dyno so i couldnt take it past 8k in 4th.

ok, its fine to get a chip tuned for your specific setup, but those are programmable chips, where as when most people say they are gonna chip their ecu, they are talking about the generic fuel map that is used for more then just your car. but anyhow the author of high-performance honda builders handbook has an offer up to any chip maker to come to his dyno and make thier claimed horsepower, and he will give them 1000 bucks. if they dont win then they have to pay for dyno time and thats it. chips get a thumbs down from me. ill stick to hondata. What is the point of chipping a ecu, especially with just bolt-ons. what is the advantage of putting extra gas in the chamber when not all of it will burn. what is the point of advancing the timing when it will cause you to detonate on low grade gas. what is the point of expanding the rpm range when stock cams dont make power past redline. whats the point of taking a stock valvetrane past its limits that were set be engineers that have studied a honda valvetrane thier whole career. if you are to get a chip put into your ecu that is not adjustable but is created for your specific application, then you need to get a chip lastly. a chip should be the very last thing that is done to your car. why would you chane the vtec cross on a stock valvetrane. why would you do away with secondaries when your stock manifold opperates optimumly like that. do you ever ask yourself these questions. do you really think that honda/acura left that much on the table for technology geeks to grab up like that. you must remember honda motors are japanese. buying a chip is like buying a set of pulleys for your honda or acura, its just not worth the money or hassle.

I completely agree with Poman. There's no way a generic chip can be sold and know everything that you have done to your car to give you power where you need it. They're made to be the 'best guess' and give power on average. A Hondata is different in that they are programmable. The VAFC offers some of this 'programability' and so does the new eManage that Greddy offers with their new turbo kits.
Congrats on the time man. If you could get that 60' time down to a 2 flat, you'd do well on your final time.
