So running OBD1 sets THE VTEC on D16Z6 at 4800rpm stock....right?
And running OBD2 sets THE VTEC-II on D16Y8 at 5500rpm stock.... right?

AND the ECU's are swapable between these two types of motors? depending on when you want VTEC to kick in. Which is better?(In lack of a more specific question)

I'm pretty sure it is not as simple as just switching ECU's one is OBD1 and one is OBD 2 I am not really sure though but I would assume that would cause problems.

according to the answers we have recieved... flipped cracka is hitting VTEC at 5500rpm on a D16Z6.
but isnt that the VTEC rpm for the D16Y8?
unless he posted wrong.

I have a Z6 and I have never even goten my car up to 4500.... I have heard Honda engines are High RPM? What is the safe RMP range for my car? 119k on the engine. Also I am new and I know that V-tec depends on many conditions in your engine and the program your computer is running.... That is why its called variable....
