For the long term, does the Civic Hybrid have the same motor mounts as the del sol (the D class motor)? If so, why not swap out the d15 for a hybrid motor w/IMA (integrated motor assist) to boost up the mileage even more. I'm one for efficiency and music, rather than 0-60. :goodjob:
maybe I could help if I knew what the hell an S model was...oh and if I really cared about a del sol.... now if it was a 1992+ civic I would be happy to help...

a S model sol is comparable to a civic dx

this is why the forums should be split, there are some terms that civic owners wont know and same goes for sol owners

You'd answer that same question for a noob Soler, or someone looking to buy a Sol. Now he knows, and he can answer for others. :dunno:

It'll only be this way for a couple weeks.

Back on main topic:

The "new" (01+) D series engines are really closer to the Ks than the older Ds. They definately don't share mounts. Also a bit larger. I think you could swap in the IMA engine, but you'd need custom mounts and I have no idea where you'd fit the batteries in a Sol. I think there's a reason the IMA is only on the sedan... cargo space for those batteries. Wiring would, of course, be a total bitch as well.

Bottom line: It's doable, but would be very expensive and time consuming to install. I'd suggest a Civic HX engine instead... not quite as much gas mileage, but still a lot, and it'll bolt in.
