Default Wire through firewall???

Hey all,

I'm in the middle of a stereo install here(been going on for two weeks now) and I'm trying to find a place to go though the firewall on a 96 Civic. I have to get a power wire from the battery to the head unit. Does anyone have any good places to go through that is predrilled/plugged from the factory that you have run wires/hoses through for gauge installs, NO2 installs, or other applications?

Mods, I know this probably belongs in the Audio/Electronics section, but I figured I'd ask here first because everyone on this board is familar with the 95-98 Civics firewall more so then everyone in the Audio section. If you feel the need to move it, that's fine too!!

Thanks in advance!!

Pics would be a HUGE help as well!!

you don't get power for the h/u directly from the battery normaly, but, there's a plug on the drivers side near the master cylinder

If you need a constat for your head unit, use one already behind the dash. Why run extra wires when it's already there for you? :dunno:

I'm running a high current deck. It's the Alpine 7894 with the V-drive amp in it. It needs it's own power wire directly from the battery to the deck. Pain in the a$$? Yes, but it sounds a lot better and puts less stress on my factory harness.

Sorry I didn't include that in the first post, my bad.

look under or beside the battery box. there should be a black rubber plug in the firewall there.

I'm sure you know this, but be sure to protect the wire from wear. Someone here on HAN was recently having electrical problems (battery dying) and I believe it turned out to be a wire running through his firewall causing the short. Just lookin' out for ya bro!

Thanks for the thought!! I'll have to scope out the hole and find a rubber grommet or plastic bushing.

yeah, put electric tape and shit around where it goes through. Make sure the insulation won't be shredding.
