Default d16 10:8:1 turbo?

hey guys i know im new to this forum but im not a noob to the honda/acura world. I have a fully built d16z6 dh-racing motor with every bolt-on you can possibly imagine except a turbo. I dyno 170whp all motor but its not enough. Im compressing at 10:8:1, could i run a turbo @ 5.5-8psi? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That compression is a little high for boost. How is your motor built (details etc)?

You could, but you better have some awesome tuning.

A lot sponsered ITRs and CTRs in Japan run ~10.6:1 compression with a big turbo but they are tuned by the best and are running higher octane gass.

the head is crower dual titanium valve springs and retainers, zex stage 2 cam and a dh-racing full race port and polish. The block is je pistons 10:8:1 with eagle h-beam connecting rods and a dh-racing knife-edged crank, balnaced and blueprinted,hot-tanked,decked and honed.

You can do it, but you won't be able to run a lot of boost and you will need EXCELLENT tuning!

what about introducing a copper head gasket into the mix when bolting on a turbo? what kind of help would that be?

umm... first of all, do you have sleeves? If you want to boost @ 10.8:1 c/r, cylinder pressures will be pretty high. Even with good tuning, youre still runing the risk of cracking stock sleeves. W/ sleeves, I'd say no problem... just keep the boost relatively low, tune well and use good gas  w/o sleeves, you'd need to be even more anal about your tuning, and gas. 10.8:1 + boost definitely isn't out of the question.
