Default Paint Job

Once I get the flying ace taken care of internalls (changed the oil today, this weekend i'm gonna do the plugs, drop the radiator fluid and replace, and change the gear oil as well as brake pads), and fix the damned targa top (as I think its the cause of my leak, but see the other thread to help with that one) I wanna get it painted (cuz it looks like shit). any recommendations? maaco? find a local shop? any good ones in Georgia?

wouldn't recommend maaco, unless you want to repaint once every coupla years. plus orange peel is nasty.

they do something funny w/ their "clearcoat", they don't put an actual coat of clear on. therefore it doesn't last as long. they also won't do any paint with pearl in it; they won't do any more than two coats on a paintjob. at least, not the ones around here.

remember, you get what you pay for.

well his car is milano red. do you plan on doing a different color? if not, maaco might not be too bad. they offer different packages.

If they don't do clearcoats, then they don't deserve your business.

Anybody had experiences with getting their sols repainted? What did you do about the plastic mouldings (such as those behind the rear window) that are color plastic and not painted? Mine are faded as hell.

thats the thing with honda and the sol. those plastic pieces were never painted, they just had some that were "the same color" so its no wonder there gonna fade. i had mine repainted. or actually. uh just painted. haha

When I had my Sol done, the guy stripped as much as he possibly could down. When I got it back, there was really no way to know it was ever black
