Usually LS/Vtec or CRV-Vtecs aren't that reliable without some extra money dropped into the formula.

probably not. find out all you can about the motor (what internals, who built it, etc...) A well-built crvtec is a powerhouse, but odds are you wont have that factory reliability unless it was assembled very carefully with all the right parts.

I could have gotten either or, the price of the motor wasn't really an issue.

The B16 is cheaper and revving higher is more fun :exnbp:

I chose the B16, everyone else prefers the B18, you can't go wrong with either motor, if you want the torque, go for the B18... I don't regret my decision.
