Default targa seals disintegrating

i hate my life.

just tell me the extent of what you think the damage is, what i can do about it, and how much its gonna cost me. when i bought the car in december i never thought about this, and although i did check the seals before buying, i never really drove around much with the top off untill today when i noticed just how torn up the seals are on the passenger side. is it going to cause leakage issues? dont these things cost alot? i know they are gonna get worse....

do you have any problems with them being in this kind of condition? i knew they would run me about $500-600, unless i can get really lucky or find an idiot.

i actually dont have problems with my seals. only when water pressure is sprayed directly on them. but your not supposed to do that anyway.if you want, you could try and get some soft silicone type material, put it on there, and then smooth it out. to kinda fill in the holes....

its a thought?

what year is the sol? you know that the 93-94 had the leaky roofs. Mine leaks sometimes and mine is a 94, and mine don't look that bad. I went to a dealer to get a quote for new seals and he said $2,000 :nervous:. also you can't take seals of another sol and put them on yours becuase when you take off the seals all the bolts are striped off and become useless. So i went about thinking and i decied that to fix my leaky roof i'm gona save up and get the ameripol roof becuase that dosen't leak. But those are 650 brand new..... soooo if they don't leak yet thats good, but those look bad.

i have a 95 and i dont really leak, sometimes in alot of rain i get a few drips on the driver's side, but all that is on the passenger side, and the damage to the seals is on the car itself. not the top. but $2,000... if that is the case, it looks like im going towards my 4th car in under a year

i think 2000 was for ALL new seals, and i don't think the ameripol comes with seals either, but it has to on the roof part and that is the only place where mine leaks

i know a guy who bought all new seals with labor paid around 550 bucks i believe.
