Okay, I don't think he wants to do a swap because his motor is about to blow up. For $5k, I can completely build a D16 block with a custom turbo kit AND engine management then run 11's on the track with over 300hp. Can a stock B-series do that? No, but if you stick ANOTHER $5k into it, you can!

Let's think about those two choices for a second....

Built D-series with stock CR that runs 11's....OR....B-series swap that runs 15's (maybe high 14's).....

Seems like a no-brainer to me.

its an auto d16.. id rather go the economical route, rather than messing with timings, bohring the engine, buying a new cam, changing the engines displacement, and getting sh*t miles per gallon, and having a car on ur hands, that ull never be able to sell.

What do you think you're doing with a swap? Also, sleeving the block doesn't change the displacement unless you want to. Also, the stock D-series sleeves are much stronger than that of a B-series, so if he wanted to just stick $800.00 into some rods and pistons he'd still walk all over a B-series and many other cars.

Who says? You? Who wants to buy a car with a larger motor in it? Someone doesn't swap in a motor to go slower. If it's got a swap, the motor has been abused. I'd rather have a freshly built motor.

i say congrats, if u can get 30psi.. uve made the highest compression d16 engine ive ever heard of. you would have to invest a lot of time and pocess a lot of knowlege. seems like that would cost more than it would for a 3.5 grand engine swap to me.

and with a swap, ur not changing the engine displacement, ur just buying a bigger engine

Build the D and boost. Or get a bottle. then you can have the power when you need it and still have stock mileage/gal
