Default quick question about coilover install

how do i know which coilovers go in front or the rear? the taller ones or the shorter ones

they should have the spring rate marked on them.. i always thought that the stronger ones went in the front.. but there was just a thread a week ago that said the opposite.. so i would say refer to the manufacturer...

if its the "universal rate" ground controls, the heavier springs go in front. If you ordered custom rates, you should be able to figure it out on your own. If its not GC, then I have no clue.

OC is right from EVERYTHING that I've ever seen, and I've had my fair share of different suspension setups. The thicker/stronger springs go in the front. A lot of the time there is a marking on the springs that either says the spring rate, ie: 450, or it will just have an F or R....

the standard civic spring rates for gc are 375f/250r. People (myself included) often custom order a stiffer rear spring rate, but the "stock" setup is 375f/250r. Don't put them on backwards, because 250f/375r is WAY tail-biased, insufficiently supports the front end, and isn't very safe.

thanks for the help.. i kinda was able to figure it out just by looking at the way the coilovers fit with the shocks
