Default quarter mile time question...who has done this??

i'm still learnin about engines...but a buddy of mine told me he can get the Integra GS-R b18 engine for me with a 5 speed manual for 1500 bucks and he could help me install it (this buddy of mine is putting a chevy 350 into his CRX)

who has done this in a civic like mine (99 EX...2513 lbs)? I'm tryin to figure out if i can get some money together for this...but I wanted to know who's done this swap and how'd the 1/4 mile time end up? thanks

Sounds like a really good deal, is the motor legit? have you done compression tests? How many miles are on the motor?

1500 is a DAMN good price for a GSR motor ,...maybe you should run the vin,..if the vin checks out okay and the motor is not stolen,..atleast check to see if the motor is in good condition

If the motor is Not stollen, and is in decent shape, then that is more than a deal, it's a rape price. Also, how did you get your 99EX to weigh 2513? I thought they were heavier than that. Correct me if I'm wrong.

:squint: Anyway Thats is a good price for the C1 swap. I would say it will be a high 14's low 15's car because of its weight.

as far as the motor being stolen or checking the vin i'm not sure. My friend just mentioned this as i was leaving somebody's house...the next time i see him i plan on asking questions...but that whole thing struck me by surprise.

by the way...the 99 ex has a stock curb weight of 2513...thats what the specs on the car says. I haven't taken any steps toward weight reduction yet...but I think the B18C1 would be a great place to start.

I'll be sure to post again once i find out the mileage and etc on the motor.

I've read that the Integra itself with this motor has been clocked at low 14s (the Integra weighing in the 2400 lb range)...so high 14s or 15 flat is what my guess would be.

thanks

The best I have ever seen a close to stock GSR run was high 14's and it had I/H/E. Most people run low to mid 15's in stock GSRs.

You would need to have god driving the integra to pull a low 14 in a stock integra GSR.

correct me if I'm wrong but I'm almost positive a 99 Civic weighs more than a 94-2001 GSR?

EDIT: CIVIC WEIGHS LESS THAN A GSR*
