OK OK before I start getting bashed over the head with emmisions and ARB technicalities let me first say I live in FL... FL= No ARB.

Ok now that the emmisions arguments have already been addressed, can anyone point me in the direction of a company that custom fabs cats or test pipes for hybrids? I got a new header and WS cat back and just need something to join the two.

There was a thread on SHO about this company that mfg race exhaust and would custom fab a carsound cat to your dimensions i.e. inlet/outlet flanges, length, diameter, etc. Well I lost my bookmark for their web site and can not find this place again.

Can anybody refer me to a place that will make a Cat or Test Pipe to my dimensions? I found a guy on ebay that will make a test pipe for me but I'd like to try and find a well known company to deal with.

I want it to bolt in with no welding involved so it can be removed swapped etc. I would just order a universal cat and have a muffler shop weld the flanges so it will be a bolt in but I don't have any decent muffler shops around here. You should see the butcher job they did to my JDM header when I had it hooked up to the stock cat back

any competent exhaust shop should be able to make you one. I got one made for $40.

:edit: sorry, reading owns me.

Did they make you a test pipe or a cat? I was thinking of asking them to make a test pipe so if they screw up, I haven't waisted money on a cat. Not sure a muffler shop will touch my car without a cat though. There's no emission checks here but muffler shops don't like to mess with no cat setups since the cat is actually a federal regulation on US autos.

but seriously, you can't find one competent exhaust shop in your area? Really, all you need is a straight pipe and two flanges. I could probably make that myself if I had a MIG. :dunno:

well, what they made me was a *like* a test pipe. I modified an integra exhaust to fit my hatch, and it needed an extention (the same lenght as the stock integra cat section). So basically, they made me an integra test pipe, but since my VX has the cat integrated into the exh. mani, there were no cat issues. They wouldn't have touched it if I were really de-catting my car.

I just had my competant muffler shop extend my exhaust up to my header (now my downpipe, but they made me a whole new exhaust for that).

Sorry you don't have anyone around that can do that for ya man. I know what it's like to be up crap creek trying to get my exhaust to meet up.

If you got the flanges and pipe and measured what you needed, I don't see why even an incompetant wouldn't be able to put 2 flanges on a piece of pipe... :dunno:

burnsstainless.com is awesome for exhaust components, but a bit pricey. Try summit and JCW first. Also, you can probably just buy the supplies from an exhuast shop. They usually have a fair amount of scrap pipe, and flanges are only like $5 apiece.
