engine swap possibilities
i had a really frustrating day of car shopping, an impreza i was looking for sold 20 minutes before i got there to see it... but there is still the really good condition del sol si for around $5800, so i was figuring if life is gonna hand me lemons, im gonna drop a motor in it. i dont really have much against the sol si, and im gonna give the d16 a go and see what happens... but i was just wondering what swap would be smart for me if i do try. i was thinking a JDM b16a possibly, but i have no prior knowlege of how to do a swap of any kind, so any heads up would be great. im not looking to be a speed demon, and i dont need a car that can run 14's, but i just want something a little more inspiring than daily drivers typically are.

engine swap defitely. swap in a b16 or if money isnt a prob go for the b18c1. if your gonna do alot of work to the stock motor it might not be worth it. their are turbo kits for the d series motor but their like 1200. a b16 is about the same at http://www.total-boost.com/?id=15563. they can handle all ur guestions and are really knowledgeable i got a h22a with 5speed tranny for only $1900. motor was in great condition. excelent service. the b16 starts off with 160hp. im not sure about the d series guessing around 115hp since my old sohc accord motor was 130hp but was 2.2liter and without major mods to ur stock motor it wont hold alot of boost so maybe a gain of 40hp so ur at what a b16 starts off with

The d16 is 125hp.
So, we gave you a freaking long list of cars, and you're still looking at imprezzas? why?!
Call about those ones I looked up for you. Many of them were only about 25 miles away. That's definately close.
