I have an Si with sunroof, and I'd rather not have it. It adds 100lbs of weight, right where you don't want it, at the top of your center of gravity....

:eh:  you are exaggerating... aren't you? It is heavier, that along with all the power goodies is why a lot of weight conscious folks don't like EX's etc. but a sunroof does not way 100 lbs unless your's is some 3" thick bullet proof shit.

I'm waiting for some one to make a CF or Polymer piece like the Flexalite rear windows for the sunroof. I've heard they exist but haven't seen or taken the time to find them.

Well, 100 lbs. was what I was quoted, there is glass, motors, rails, etc. I've never personally had one out of the car, so I'm not going to say I'm positive. What do you think is a more reasonable weight?

Here ya go for sunroof, it's only for the CRX, and they say it saves 26lbs, 100lbs and 26lbs are quite different, heheeh.

I can't say for sure but it looks like all of the sunroof components were removed for the CF job then the CF filler piece was just screwed in with the latches. I can say with almost certainty that the glass does not weigh 26lbs by itself and the motor to operate it weighs only a few lbs at best so I would guesstimate that the complete sunroof assembly weighs at most 30 lbs.

Think of it like this, your average wheel with tire weighs anywhere between 30 - 40 lbs (average wheel not a light weight wheel).

Anyhow that CF job is nice but I'm a daily driver and like to put my sun roof back once in a while. I'd like to find one that is functional. I don't care if it's CF and I can't see through it when it's closed, so long as I can still open the damn thing.

Sorry for the OT rant
