knuckles, hubs, rear trailing arms, discs, calipers.
mc reccomended...but not required.
5 lug conversion is cool...but for the price..you are better off with a willwood brake setup from fastbrakes. 5 lug conversion is 70% bragging rights.

5 lugs do serve some purpose... they improve your cornering load capabilities... if more lugs did not serve a pupose then we would all have two lug wheels
Now I'll admit the difference would be marginal but there is a purpose behind it for the true enthusiasts... for others as you guys have said it's just a bling factor.
BTW, I'm doing the disc conversion soon. I gathered all the parts just need the time to do it now. The easiest way to do this conversion is to get the whole rear assemblies from the integra (i.e. trailing arm, spindle, hub, contorl arms, etc) and just slap the whole assembly in your civic. You'll also need the e-brake cable from the integra. Definitely get the MC/booster and a proportioning valve wouldn't hurt either.

last time i checked, 5 lugs come with rear disc braking. i agree doing the 5 lug conversion is mostly for "bling" but there's more to it then that. :fawk:

i highly recommend the master cylinder/booster. maybe the proportioning valve for your EG. i upgraded mine to the SI proportioning valve in my hatch and didn't feel the difference but the MC is is HUGE difference. while you're at it, get stainless steel brake lines.

yes...i did that as well. i upgraded to the 15/16 MC with the 40/40 prop valve and Earl's SS lines for my GSR setup.

I don't know how most people say it's optional for the MC replacement after any brake upgrade, the pedal feels so low without the upgrade.
As for the 5 lug conversion, I'd say 1 extra lug doesn't hurt

And I'm with you on the lugs. If I had the money I would have gone for the ITR rear assemblies but on a budget, the 4 lug GSR assemblies will have to do.
I don't see any bling involved there unless you're still running a bone stock D and want 5 just so you can flaunt some ITR rims.... the ITR rims do make a D-series faster right?

the valving is completely different for drum brakes versus disc brakes. Simple as that.
however, I will give a thought to the 5-lug conversion only because of this picture:
that's quite an increase in rotor size if you ask me. you will get a noticeable increase in braking with that! Not to mention you'll be able to run either s2000 or nsx rims with that lug pattern :bigok:

yes...compared to the dinky DX rotors/calipers...the 5 lug is great.
DX front = 9.2
GSR/Si front = 10.3 GSR/Si rear = 9.2
ITR front = 11.2 ITR rear = 10.3
DX front = 9.2
GSR/Si front = 10.3 GSR/Si rear = 9.2
ITR front = 11.2 ITR rear = 10.3
