Default Thoughts for my R next summer!!

Hey guys, I haven't posted in a good month or so. Busy busy little bee.

I gotta say the B16B is a wonderful engine guys..I've been having a great time driving it I do however wish to improve on my beast next year. I've been thinking about a nice DC JDM spec header and a carsound cat. What do you guys think?? How much gain, roughly, would I expect in these mods?? Any other suggestions.

I've also, as stated in another thread, been throwing around the idea of hondata/dyno tuning. I would love to do this but how much trouble/money would I be looking at??

thanks guys

Matt

www.hondata.com

put together your own prices dammit!

dyno prices vary from shop to shop. expect anywhere from $100+/hr

Doesnt your b16 already have a jdm 421 with 2.5" collector? Whats the point of wasting money on a 4-1 that is almost the same.

The only kind of header worth looking at are equal length. I'd save up for an-r or similiar header.

it looks like you're getting it up the butt :db:

you know, jkan has a point. Maybe a small shot would be a bit more benificial than a cat and header.

I wouldn't bother with hondata/tuning until you've done more to the motor. Header and cat *might* get you 5-10hp on a B16B, but prolly more like 3ish throughout most of the powerband. The stock B16B header is pretty well designed though, probably not worth the money.

Could save up for some upgraded cams and valvetrain:dunno: Thats the only way you'll make significant power without oxidizers or FI, short of a rebuild.

hey thanks boys. Ya my manifold pipe right now has a 2.5" inlet but I thought that a nice header with the same specs and a good HF cat would cause some better flow since I'm using my stock cat?? I understand that it won't bring me alot as far as hp gains right now but in the long run, when I do more to the engine, it will benifit me.

Wouldn't a hondata and some dyno make a fairly significant differance to my stock R anyway. I'm not talking loads of power but at least 10-15 to the wheels?? I dunno maybe I'm just confused of talking out of my ass but......

Haha 18sec... Ya it looks like im pumping something else too with olny half of my intake present

thanks for the info
