Recommendations for a Noob.

Recommendations for a Noob.
I have a D16Y8 '99 Civic EX. I just did my first bolt-on... a DC Sports 4-1 ceramic.
I have a little extra cash right now and am trying to decide my next mod. I am an old guy with a wife and kids, so extra money is a rare thing for me. I want to choose wisely.
I ran once in an SCCA Solo2 event and had a blast. I had about as much fun going to a local test and tune. I was thinking of some Eibach Prolines. I know they will help in the Solo2, but will they do me any good for the 1320?
Should I go with the Eibach's? complete the I/H/E triad? Save up for some Nitto's and Tenzo Sinko's?
I appreciate any advice (except the recommendations for a motor swap as it ain't happening.)

I think lowering the car slightly is a great choice, as is completing IHE... I would do lowering first simply because it does to things. it will definately improve handling, and will also give the car a much nicer look (in my opinion).
i would also recommend going all out for some ground control or equal coilover... springs are OK, but if you ever do make a rim and tire change you may also want to alter ride height, adjustable coil overs are a good long term investment

Well it all depends on how much money you have, but my recommendation is get the nicest tires you can afford. Nothing improves a car across the board like good tires... acceleration, braking, handling, everything.

I should suggest to stay away from Nitto 450 if possible.
I would also recommend getting lightweight wheels such as Rota or Konigs. They run as low as 380-400 for a set of 12-14lb wheels.

Go to www.machiii.net and look under wheels. I did a local pickup for my wheels so mine was $400 out the door. They sell 15 inch applications for $450 shipped. 16 inch applications for $500 shipped.

he is gonna need rims AND tires... say 4 15's for 400-450.. hes still gonna need tires.. so lets say he goes kumhos (which of course he would. lol) you are looking at 60 bucks a pop...thats 240so at least 650-700 plus mounting and balancing... i say stay away from rims and tires till you have like 800 sitting. cause that is about what it should cost for a good setup... lower it.. you will eventualy.. so it makes sense to do it now... while you have the cash..

oc_civic is right. Springs are the best next mod to do for your car for the amount you have now.
