Teach me about the oil catch can. I'm still burning off oil, but I just changed out my PCV valve with the one on my D15B7. Not sure if they're the same, but they sure look alike so I though it couldn't hurt to at least try. We'll see if anything changes tomorrow.

There was a little oil in the tube that goes from the top of the PCV to the intake. I didn't take the chamber below the PCV out cause it would have been a pain and I didn't want to deal with it tonight.

I still haven't checked my FMIC piping for pooling, but I was burning off even before I installed the Turbo...

I've been told it could be the Total Seal rings and a friend of mine that built a monster H22 had Total Seals and it smoked like a beoch!

So, tell me about the oil catch. What does it do? School me please.

Thanks!

:edit: I shook my old PCV and it rattled a bit. Not as much as the one off the D15B7 though. My Chilton's has 2 different testing methods in 2 different sections of the book. One says to idle the car, pop the valve out of the chamber, put your finger over it and it should rattle. The other says to just take it off completely and shake it. I did the finger test and it didn't rattle with either PCV, but they did when I shook them. :dunno:
Just thought I'd add that...

I just have to ask, do you still have your valve cover breather still hooked up to the intake piping? If so, that could be causing some of your problems.

No, it's running from filtered open atmosphere.
You can see it in this image:

it captures oil blowing out of the engine and prevents it from entering back in through the intake manifold....the oil reduces octane rating (can cause detonation).

thansk for asking me :fawk:
i have one and its inline the pcv hosing...
and i've been catching a good amount of oil into my can...
fro mthe debates i've been in.. its best to run the setup below:
valve cover crankcase to intake - place catch can inline)
pcv hosing -place catch can inline

another option people have done it have the catch can dumped into the atmosphere, because pcv stays shut when under pressure (turbo)
