Alright I got a really stupid question?
I know some of you are going to think this is stupid, but this has puzzeled me for some time. I see people refer to civic models as EJ's, and EK's. What does this mean? Models? Generations?
Thanks in advance!

The 4,5,6, letters and numbers will tell you your chassis code on your VIN.
EJ is the Civic coupe
EK is the Civic hatch and sedan.
The JDM and USDM (japanese domestic market and u.s. domestic market) will differ in some cases.

it's just what people call they're cars to be cool like the japanese peeps
just to make it easier
96-00 = EK ones with big headlights etc.
92-95 = EG smaller headlights, basically same shape, longer hatch
88-91 = EF crx's and boxy civics
I'm not sure about the others cause theres just not enough around for me to remember. If you look on your VIN you'll probably see E8J, etc. But again we omit that trying to be cool.

Its not being cool...its being lazy
I can say EG and people will get it is a 92-95 civic...rather than typing the whole thing out.

so your saying a 92-95 coupe and a 96-00 coupe are both EJ's because they are both coupes?
